There is no hard and fast rules about what you should wear but there are a few accepted norms in place and or suggestions that may help such as :

The Mother of the Bride usually chooses her outfit before the Mother of the Groom but it may not always be the case but its important to keep communicating with each other to avoid any clashes or matches.

Although some of us including myself may prefer bright vivid colours , it is important to complement and work with the bridal party rather than standing out. Some of the more muted tones which are the typical colour palette may be scary to wear buts its all about finding the right shade and tone for your complexion.

We believe all shopping experiences should be pleasurable and trying on outfits should be fun and never be disheartened if the first few outfits are not right. We get asked about dress lengths, knee high and midi length dresses are the most common styles, both of which work well on different body shapes. Its important to choose the right length for your height, Elongate your body with a shorter dress cut if you are 5’4” or shorter, however this doesn’t always rule out midi lengths for smaller ladies as long as you create balance and you can always choose a higher heel if you want too.

You should try on lots colours, silhouettes, fabrics and styles. We will assist in ideas and help give you the right  look to ensure that you feel confident and fabulous.

We suggest wherever possible to book an appointment on the Occasionwear side to ensure you get the time you deserve. We welcome walk ins but during busy periods particularly Saturday , there may be a wait whilst one of our personal stylists become available as appointments take priority and Health and safety must be a factor and It also gives you the time and safety to browse and try on within a safe environment. As we stock the hats, fascinators, shoes and matching bags, accessories we are a one stop store .
